The Frank Stanford radio show airs in Victoria, British Columbia on station CFAX weekday mornings. On May 25th, Darren Beyer was interviewed on air by Mr. Stanford about how the number of women science fiction readers has been on the rise since the genre began to become mainstream more than 60 years ago. What began in single digit percentages in the 1940s, female readership has grown to be approximately on par with male readership today. A number of reasons exist for this rise, and Darren goes into them and more during the radio interview.
